Winter at Drumbar
Winter came late this year to Chicago, Drumbar was able to squeeze in an extra month of patio time this season. Whitney has been working on putting together an exciting lineup for Drumbar, consisting of a new cocktail menu, champagne sabering lessons and spirit education classes. The menu will be divided into three sections, the first being the House Cocktails, where you will notice some unique garnishes as well as one hot drink, perfectly fitting for the season. She will also be adding a special section labeled “Candy Shoppe” consisting of 4 cocktails inspired by vintage candy. Keeping to Drumbar’s tradition, the last section will be a selection of the classics. The Monthly Spirit Education Classes are a new addition to the Drumbar line up. Whitney has partnered with some great spirits, such as Absolut Elyx, Bruichladdich, Angels Envy, and 123 Organic Tequila. Each class highlights one specific spirit, and gives the guests a real in depth education of the spirit, its origin, and how to use it in a cocktail. Pernod Ricard visited Drumbar last month and trained the staff on the art of Champagne Sabering, and our next Event will be taking place this February. Guests will be able to learn how to saber a bottle as well as be provided with a tasting of various champagnes, such as GH Mumm and Perrier Jouet. Talk about a fun and flashy party trick to show off with!
Celebrating one year at Bodega
2015 brought South Beach one it’s most sought after destinations for both locals and tourists, Bodega Taqueria y Tequila. While people were drawn the the authentic tacos, that were being produced in an airstream taco truck, all the excitement really happened behind the porta potty door. As we welcome 2016, we can’t help but take a look back at what an amazing introductory year Bodega had. Here are our top 5 moments from 2015. 1. New Years Eve 2015 This happened to be the opening night of Bodega, where we taught Miami “never judge a book by its cover”, as Urban Daddy put it. A Taqueria with a Fantastic Secret opened its doors to South Beach locals. 2. Cinco de Mayo Party Its no coincidence that during Bodega’s inaugural year, Cindo De Mayo happened to fall on Taco Tuesday, making it the no brainer spot to celebrate. Between the Mariachi band, tacos, tequila, churro machine, and our favorite mascot the night was definitely one for the books. 3. Winner of Best Taco at Seafood Festival Chef Showdown This year was the 2nd annual Chef Showdown at the South Beach Seafood Festival where Chef Bernie battled it out against Coyo taco and came out victorious! 4. Bodega Sunlife The Miami Dolphins and Sunlife Stadium underwent an enormous renovation this past year. For their season opener, it was announced all the new in-stadium food and beverage offerings that will greet fans starting this Sunday for the Dolphins season home opener. […]
Bodega Wins at South Beach Seafood Festival
Congrats to Bodega South Beach and Chef Bernie Matz in winning the Chef Showdown Taco Battle at the Miami Beach Seafood Festival last month. Over 800 people came out to sip wine (or tequila at Bodega’s table), sample seafood, and experience some of Miami’s top Chefs Battle it out on stage. Chef Bernie Matz, our Culinary Director, battled Bodega’s rival, Coyo Taco, in what was the most anticipated event of the evening, but they were no match for Bernie’s Cracked Bahamian Lobster Taco. Lobster Taco : For the Lobster: Fresh Lobster Tail, Seasoned Flour, Egg, Panko Breadcrumbs Pico De Gallo: Mango, Tomato, Red Onion, Jalapeno, Cilantro, Serrano Pepper, Vinegar, Lime Juice, Salt and Pepper, and a splash of Pineapple Juice Salsa Rosado: TOP SECRET BODEGA RECIPE

Red Bull Guest House Takeover At Gale South Beach
Redbull announced their 15 Best Moments from this year’s RBGuestHouse at Gale South Beach! The event packed line up had us busy from noon till 6am with happenings on both rooftop decks, Dolce, Rec Room, and Regent Cocktail Club. The surprises were endless. We can definitely all agree that this year’s party will be tough to top We quote (and maybe brag a little…) 15. The Pool This is where it all happened. Well, not all of it, but a lot of it. The rooftop pool at The Gale South Beach, the home of Red Bull Guest House 2014. We swam in it. We jumped in it. We danced around it. Some people even danced in it. It was a great pool. We love that pool. 14. Traktor Cookery School Native Instrument’s Traktor Cookery School provided the fuel that kept us dancing all day and all night. Each afternoon, they brought in a different DJ, producer or music industry person to create and prepare a dish: Matthew Dear, DJ Craze, Nicole Moudaber, and Resident Advisor co-founder Nick Sabine. Good food, good people. 13. Diddy and Guy Gerber’s ’11 11′ Listening Party Diddy, a.k.a. Puff Daddy, has been working on a new “underground dance” album with Guy Gerber called ’11 11.’ They both stopped by Guest House Saturday night. As soon as Diddy entered the room, we knew we were in the presence of greatness. And then the man who’s made such a huge impact on hip-hop […]
